Creative Voices
Wednesday 14 July 2021 (please note that ticket sales close on Sunday 11 July)
Online workshop, 1000-1300 & 1400-1700
Co-produced in partnership with Welsh National Opera, led by James Redwood & Freya Wynn-Jones
This workshop day is aimed at singers and instrumentalists who want to develop their skills as music leaders, drawing on opera, composition and vocal work to inspire and support participants’ creativity.
The morning session, led by director, singer and opera-maker Freya Wynn-Jones will explore the full breadth of the voice as a tool to express emotion, develop character and tell stories through music.
In the afternoon, composer and music leader James Redwood will take you through a range of different approaches to song-writing, from heavily-scaffolded to almost completely free-form, and will introduce a number of songs and rounds which can be used as warm-ups or as a musical break within a longer session.
