Musical Rumpus: Words

Posted on

Conversations using nonsense languages are great fun.

“I can use sounds to make up songs instead of words [with my baby].”

Try these activities at home!

Have a chat with your baby using noises instead of words and see how they respond.

Try singing the melody of a song substituting words with simple vocalisations eg. ba, ma, da, doo, di

Play with words which sound like their meaning and add actions eg. woof, shhhh, boom boom

Sing & Dance to this…

This is a popular children’s song from Africa, meaning stand up, sit down, jump around.
