Lydia joined Spitalfields Music in 2018, then left to move to her home county of Cornwall in 2019. But she couldn’t stay away and now works for Spits part time and remotely from Cornwall! After studying music at University, Lydia has worked in Heritage and Arts organisations. As a freelance fundraiser, she also works for a Museum in Cornwall and spends a lot of time at her family farm, where she is an administrator and can be seen cuddling animals.

Favourite place in the world?
Ah if I told you then the tourists would flock! Hint: it’s in Cornwall and involves the sea.
A fun fact…
I learnt to sight read piano music as a teenager by picking up my mum’s opera scores. Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin was oddly a particular favourite…I liked to make life easy for myself…
No.1 book recommendation?
Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese, oh wait, no, Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens…what a decision?!
