Founded in 1976 as an annual summer music festival, for over 40 years Spitalfields Music has been putting music at the heart of East London. Galvanised by a vision to celebrate Music, People and Place, we create a modern urban festival; rooted in, reflective of, and created by our diverse East London community. Our next Festival will take place in late June 2020 curated by Edmund Finnis, Kate Molleson and Errollyn Wallen.

In 2017, we relaunched our festival model to bring in a guest Artistic Curator each year, starting with genre-defying conductor André de Ridder. His festivals in 2017 and 2018 centred on a core group of outstanding artists from across Europe, performing cross-genre programmes across the nine days.

We are excited to be working with Artistic Curators Edmund Finnis, Kate Molleson and Errollyn Wallen for our 2020 and 2021 Festivals. Each Curator brings with them different perspectives and experience, which we will bring to life in our spiritual home of Christ Church, Spitalfields next June.
