Clare became General Manager of Spitalfields Music in September 2024, bringing with her a diverse background across multiple art forms. Prior to this role, she served as Project Manager for the Menuhin Competition and gained experience as a freelance theatre producer and in mid-sized art galleries. She is passionate about all art forms and particularly interested in expanding community access to music.

Fun fact
In my spare time, I play cello and arrange music for my amateur orchestra. I’ve dabbled in conducting but suspect I’m a much better arranger than conductor.
Favourite place in the world?
I grew up in Scotland and, no matter where I go, I always think that it’s possibly one of the best and most brilliant places in the world. Amazing culture, exceptional tap water and you’re never far from some of the most breathtaking landscapes you’ve ever seen.
Furthest you’ve been from home?
Geographically, the furthest I’ve been is Malaysia – but because I’m half Malaysian and a lot of my family live there, it also feels like home in a lot of ways.
