Jonathan Bowen has held senior positions across a number of investment banks and subsequently ran his own business which he sold to a listed investment group. He has extensive expertise in finance, leadership and strategic development. Now retired, Jonathan is focused on mentoring, education and philanthropy. Spitalfields Music is his first Trustee role and he is looking forward to commencing a post-graduate course in Art History and Renaissance Culture.

The Ascent of Rum Doodle- it’s a parody of expeditionary journals that were popular in the 50s. That might not sound much, but it’s the funniest thing I’ve read and will make you laugh.
Favourite place in the world?
I have been lucky to travel the world with work and for leisure and never tire of exploring new places. I love Malaysia; warm people, a beautiful environment, incredible food and an energy and dynamism that seems to characterise so much of south-east Asia. My favourite place in the world is Sunshine Beach in Queensland which I’m lucky enough to visit regularly thanks to my Australian wife and extended family.
