During this difficult time, we have seen some amazing examples of how the arts and creativity have been used to build communities and keep care settings connected. We still can’t make it into our care homes for the time being, but we’re committed to making them feel loved in our time apart.
As part of National Day of Arts in Care Homes on Thursday 24th September we want to send our Creative Encounters care homes some love in the best way we know how – through art! We’d love to send them an array of music, paintings, postcards and drawings, from you, our wonderful community, to show we are thinking of them. It’s a great way to reach out to others and give care home residents and staff a beautiful gift they can display.
If you feel inspired to take part, please submit your artwork to: ku.gro.cisumsdleiflatips@tnuh.ettolrahc or post to: Spitalfields Music, St Margaret’s House, 15 Old Ford Road, London, E2 9PJ by Friday, 18 September and it will then be distributed to our homes. We’re open to all art forms; musical recording, a video, a painting – anything that inspires you. You can also share your creation by sharing and tagging us on social media. You can find us on Facebook (@spitalfieldsmusic), Twitter (@SpitsMusic) and Instagram (@spitsmusic).
In line with Tower Hamlets Local Authority and Government Guidance, we will ensure all art materials submitted are quarantined for 5 days and handled with gloves in order to minimise the risk of spread and infection. If you have any concerns about this please email ku.gro.cisumsdleiflatips@tnuh.ettolrahc
