The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2021 🎄

Posted on

Another Big Give Christmas Challenge is here!  This year we’re aiming to raise £28,000 for Music and Mindfulness Projects for Children. We want to bring a series of bespoke, creative workshops to children in Tower Hamlets schools. The workshops will focus on increasing mindfulness and wellbeing in the wake of the pandemic. We’ll also be delivering The Big Sing at Spitalfields Music Festival 2022, which will involve a massed choir performance of more than 100 students.

With young people being badly affected by the pandemic, teachers are concerned for their students’ mental wellbeing, and have let us know that creative activities have decreased in schools. We know first-hand just how positive the practice of music and mindfulness is for young people, especially in the wake of the pandemic. Last year’s Big Give campaign focused on Music and Wellbeing for Children and Young People, and it has been an absolute joy to see how the funds raised have made a difference to the children who we work with.

So, to get you in the giving spirit, here’s a lovely video of The Island of The Self – a music and mindfulness project we ran this summer, with thanks to all the generous donors from last year’s Big Give campaign. It’s a must watch!

The funds raised from this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge will enable children aged 7-16 to take part in music projects like these. To donate, head to our page on the Big Give website between 30th November – 7th December and your donation will be doubled! Any amount you can contribute will make a difference to the young people who we work with.

We would like say a HUGE thank you to our generous pledge funders, and our match funding champion, The Childhood Trust. Any amount you can contribute will make a difference to the young people who we work with.
