New works by Michael Finnissy and Rasmus Zwicki explore the legacy of story-telling

PRICE: £22 / £15

For generations, we have taught morals and values through story-telling and poetry. This concert brings together Michael Finnissy’s Andersen-Liederkreis, based on poems by Hans Christian Andersen, with a new companion work from Danish composer Rasmus Zwicki, and a further premiere from Finnissy, written specially for British-Pakistani soprano Mimi Doulton.

The performance is staged under the vibrant painted ceiling of St John’s Hoxton, a remarkable Georgian church designed by Francis Edwards – the foremost pupil of Sir John Soane – and later exceptionally decorated by the Pre-Raphaelite painter J A Reeve.
