We are delighted to announce that Skills Lab Academy will return in 2022!
Skills Lab Academy is a professional training course for emerging and established music leaders, aged 18+, from all backgrounds who wish to develop their skills in creative music-making and leadership in a range of community settings. This year’s course will be led by dynamic professional music leaders Abimaro Gunnell and James Redwood, alongside a host of exciting guest speakers. The course is open to instrumentalists and vocalists of all disciplines and levels of experience, though would particularly suit those looking to build a career as a professional music workshop leader.
The full course consists of four full days of in-person, interactive training and will cover a range of themes including working with inclusive ensembles, mindfulness techniques and creative music-making in schools. Attendance at all four days is strongly encouraged, though day tickets are also available.
Tickets are £45 per session.
Three sessions will be held at Brady Arts & Community Centre in Whitechapel, one session (29 April 2022) will be held at Leeds Conservatoire.
Tickets can be booked online from 1st December, on the individual event pages. If you require assistance, you can also call us on 07311 622393.
This year’s Skills Labs workshops will all be held in-person (in line with current government guidelines). However, as we want to ensure that our workshops are accessible to all who wish to take part, please get in touch to let us know if attending in person isn’t preferable or possible for you, so we can discuss alternative options.
Skills Lab Academy is generously supported by HM Government’s Culture Recovery Fund, The Scops Arts Trust and The Thistle Trust.
