Spitalfields Music Festival 2025 is here – renowned performers, a vibrant mix of new commissions, and an exploration of a rich cultural heritage come together this summer in concert halls, historic venues, and industrial spaces across East London.
See stories come to life through cross-art form performances in Ninfea Crutwell-Reade‘s imaginative take on Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood, and Litha Efthymiou‘s striking exploration of womanhood and identity in Cover Her. Plus, we’re delighted to feature star cellist Raphael Wallfisch, joined by students from Trinity Laban Conservatoire, for a performance of John Tavener’s masterpiece, The Protecting Veil.
History and innovation meet in programmes like Ben Goldscheider‘s Cornucopia, showcasing centuries of horn music; and the Consone Quartet explore lineages between composers, linking Haydn and Schumann, Purcell, Britten and a new commission by Oliver Leith. With thirteen premieres across the lineup, including experimental electronic reimaginings of Renaissance music in Darkness, and contemplative new piano music from Jonathan Dove in Late Night Music, we invite you to join us on a journey of discovery this summer.
