Described as one of the UK’s “top new music bands” (Kate Molleson, BBC Radio 3), Explore Ensemble makes their Spitalfields debut with a typically eclectic serving of new music.
As they collaborate with Austrian composer and organist Klaus Lang – including the world premiere of his new work, inspired by designer William Morris – the ensemble will at times encircle the audience, bringing a new listening experience to what’s said to be the oldest church in the City of London.
Starring guest artists Exaudi, Catherine Lamb’s color residua explores new sounds and frequencies of the voice, while Lara Agar’s Ham is a homage to the first great ape in space, who safely returned to Earth in 1961.
