Through our work with our Neighbourhood Schools, we’ve witnessed first-hand the challenges that children are facing. The impact of the pandemic has been long-lasting, and the ongoing cost of living crisis has hit children hard. Tower Hamlets remains one of the UK’s worst affected areas for child poverty. On average, 40% of the students we work with qualify for free school meals, and schools have above-average rates of students eligible for pupil premiums
Sadly, arts education often remains out of reach for many pupils. Children are deprived of the incredible mental health, educational, and creative benefits that music-making brings.
Donating to our Big Give campaign can help support us in providing workshops in schools, producing training sessions for teachers, or providing weekly singing opportunities through our youth choir.
From the 3rd to the 10th of December, your donations towards this project will be doubled, thanks to the generous support of our match funders, The Childhood Trust.
We’re aiming to raise £25,000 in funds this week. Any amount will help us reach this goal and provide the chance for young people from schools across East London to access music education.
