Our Big Sing events bring together pupils from across East London for massed singing sessions, leading to a public performance. We’re working to empower music teachers, build vocal skills, and unite school pupils through the joy of shared singing.
Students and their teachers work with experienced vocal leaders to learn and perform varied repertoire that explores the power of singing together, and its positive effect on wellbeing, a common thread running through this year’s Learning & Participation work. The project includes resources for teaching staff to support the learning of songs, and we offer individual coaching sessions between rehearsals.
The Neighbourhood Schools project is generously supported by The SHM Foundation, The Victoria Wood Foundation, The Derek Shuttleworth Educational Trust, The Henry Oldfield Trust, The Radcliffe Trust, The Mary Kinross Charitable Trust, and the generosity of a number of individual donors.
