What could the future hold for the arts within society? What impact can the arts have on our shared civic life?
Last summer we made 21 podcasts that brought together perspectives on the future from people who are active in the world in which Spitalfields Music and all who interact with the organisation operate. Our contributors ranged from Tony Hall (Director-General, BBC), to composer David Lang and the Osmani Primary School debating team. You can catch up with the series online.
This Summer Festival, following the General Election, we invite guest speakers to give their thoughts, in a series of podcast talks, about the role of the arts in cities, in local communities, right now.
The speakers come from a range of backgrounds, from the arts to social enterprise, to business leadership and futurism. Each will talk about a topic they are passionate about, addressing and provoking challenges for the future.
All our speakers are looking to spark discussion, and you can respond to their thoughts by tweeting us @SpitsMusic #WhatNext
