Early music ensemble The English Concert is joined by renowned theatrical countertenor Iestyn Davies in Hawksmoor’s glorious Christ Church Spitalfields.
Together they perform lyrical and timeless works by JS Bach and Buxtehude, featuring Bach’s cantata for solo countertenor Vergnügte Ruh, beliebte Seelenlust, alongside intricate concertos by less familiar composers the Dutch Wassenaer and Italian Locatelli. They also embrace the season with excerpts with countertenor arias from his much-loved Christmas Oratorio.
