New Young Voice Collective is a non-auditioned youth choir based in Newham, London, led by Artistic Director Naveen Arles, for young people aged 11-25. Formed in 2013, they sing a programme of music with a clear representation of excellence, values of diversity, inclusion and social responsibility.
We know from 20 years of experience that confidence noticeably improves through group singing and peer-mentorship. It will improve brain function, wellbeing, social skills, aspirations, and consequentially educational attainment, ensuring children reach their full potential. The choir will also offer clear pathways and progression to education and creative industries for those interested in pursuing a creative career, which will ensure an increased diversity in the creative sector over time.
Former choir members who have gone on to forge successful performing careers are currently touring with Dua Lipa and working on ABBA Voyage and with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
From 28 November – 5 December we are taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge, aiming to raise funds to ensure that we can keep the choir going in 2023. During this period you can double your donation via the Big Give website. So if you give £5, we will receive £10, thanks to some amazing individuals and the Childhood Trust who have pledged to double donations. Without this support, we may not be able to continue the choir in its full capacity beyond December 2023, meaning that our participants will miss out on this opportunity.
