Over the past decade vocal consort Stile Antico has built an outstanding reputation for their performances of a cappella renaissance music.
Marking ten years together, we welcome them to the sonorous setting of Christ Church Spitalfields. They perform a collection of English music for the Christian service of compline, a programme made famous by their bestselling recording.
Taking place at dusk, the service of compline is a meditative sequence of words, music and prayer. In this concert, Stile Antico present exquisite works of contemplation by some of England’s finest composer of the day, including William Byrd, Thomas Tallis and John Sheppard.
