Europe’s foremost lute player Elizabeth Kenny and British soprano Katherine Watson join forces to pay homage to Barbara Strozzi and Francesca Caccini, two female songwriters from 17th-century Italy. This programme of madrigals, arias and cantatas shows off the evocative and rich styles of these two composers in Spitalfields Music’s final instalment of the Women: Work and Power series.
