Creating music with others is a key part of music workshop leading, yet can be tricky to master. There are an infinite number of ways to begin this process.
This practical training day, the second in our 2023 series, will give participants an insight into the range of approaches used by experienced music leader James Redwood and composer, BBC Concert Orchestra violinist and music leader Sarah Freestone. Featuring a mixture of set-piece exercises and more free-ranging creative ideas, this day will have a focus on using existing repertoire as a starting point for engaging, effective co-creation with workshop participants.
Expect to come away inspired and full of ideas and techniques for sparking the collaborative music process. Do bring your instrument if you have one, or come prepared to use your voice!
