Our much-loved community music training programme, Skills Lab Academy, is back!
What is Skills Lab Academy? It is an affordable, four-day practical training course for musicians, aged 18+, from all backgrounds who wish to develop their skills in creative music-making and leadership in a range of community settings, and meet fellow like-minded artists.
Why choose us? Spitalfields Music has 30+ years experience of delivering high-quality musical experiences in schools, care homes and other community settings. Through our Trainee Music Leader and Skills Lab programmes we have helped kickstart the careers of many of the UK’s foremost community musicians and workshop leaders.
This year’s course will be led by respected professional music workshop leaders Abimaro Gunnell and James Redwood, alongside a host of expert guest speakers from across the community music sector. The course is open to instrumentalists and vocalists of all musical genres and levels of experience, though would particularly suit those looking to build a career as a professional music workshop leader, or refresh existing skills as part of continuing professional development. This year’s course will take place in London, Leeds & Suffolk to reach more musicians than ever before.
Tickets are £55 per day for individuals/ freelancers and £95 for people supported to attend by organisations. Book for all four days by 23rd January and get one free! Discount will be automatically applied at checkout.
