Shine is a project designed to encourage and promote cohesion between communities with and without Special Educational Needs within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and to improve confidence and raise aspirations of young people from disadvantaged groups, enabling them to work together and provide positive images of young people within the local community.

Alongside professional musicians 15 members of Toynbee Hall’s youth project Make Sense! and 15 young people with special educational needs will work together to create their own music using the latest accessible music technology alongside traditional musical instruments. Sessions will involve song-writing, singing, making grooves and beats, exploring creative ways to make music and turning everyday objects into musical instruments.

In partnership with Drake Music and Toynbee Hall
