As part of a two-year project with Phoenix School, creative leaders Sam Chaplin and Abimaro Gunnell will be returning to Phoenix School next summer to continue developing ideas generated by Key Stage 2 pupils in 2014/15.
Pupils will explore the theme of journeys through singing and song-writing, working towards a performance in school to peers, teachers and parents.
This year we have commissioned Sam Chaplin to create a new work based on the pupils’ creative ideas, to be performed by Phoenix pupils alongside local mainstream primary schools in partnership with Tower Hamlets Arts and Music Education Service at the THAMES 10th Anniversary Concert at the Barbican in July.
