Communities

Transformative initiatives that empower communities

We believe in the transformative power of music. Everyone should have the opportunity to engage in music-making, so for the past 36 years, we have been dedicated to producing learning and participation work, reaching diverse communities through our programmes. Our work has taken place in schools, healthcare settings, and many more community environments, creating opportunities for individuals to connect, learn, and grow through music.

Current projects

  • Neighbourhood Schools

Our relationships with local schools have been built across decades. We take great pride in being part of the lives of generations of children and families past, present and future.

Our Neighbourhood Schools programme builds partnerships with schools in Tower Hamlets, collaborating with teachers to plan workshops and projects that support creative pathways, tailored to schools’ strategic objectives, PSHE themes, and cross-curricular links.

  • New Young Voice Collective

The New Young Voice Collective (NewYVC) is our open-access vocal group for young people ages 11-19, designed to empower young people with confidence and creative skills.

NewYVC runs on a model of collective leadership, with training opportunities from day one. Members get the chance to join the Young Artist scheme, which provides one-to-one support, conducting courses, music exams, performance opportunities, and support into higher education.
