Nicole joined Spitalfields Music in May 2017, initially producing Musical Rumpus, our opera series for early years which toured to libraries and children’s centres across East London. She got the bug for participatory arts working with various community groups, including children and young people and with older adults in intergenerational creative projects which spanned music, theatre and visual art. In a previous life, Nicole lived in Berlin, Germany, working as a language facilitator. Nicole’s ongoing musical awakening has been heavily informed by the Leeds, Bristol and Berlin music scenes.
More about Nicole…
1) Favourite hobby?
I love getting out and about, exploring on my bike.
2) Favourite thing about your job?
I am constantly inspired by the projects, creative energy and extraordinary community of people we come into contact with through our work.
3) A recent project moment that inspired you?
This reflection came from a care home staff member who took part in Creative Encounters and sums up beautifully the magic of those creative sessions, “To be in a room full of people, residents, artists and myself and colleague S, for that time as a group we are one, we become one.”
