This year, Spitalfields Music is taking a break from our Trainee Music Leader’s Scheme, to reflect and make some important changes. While this means that sadly, the scheme is going to be on pause for 2020/21, we will be back next year.
In the meantime, thanks to generous support by Help Musicians UK and Scops Arts Trust, we’re excited to launch our latest talent development opportunity.
We have been working with an inspiring group of practitioners to design Skills Lab: Creative Communities – a six–day practical training academy for musicians from any genre who want to learn how to lead and facilitate creative workshops with diverse communities. It is designed to give a good understanding of key principles and approaches which underpin the work of any creative music leader.
The training runs from December 2020 to July 2021. Participants can attend the whole academy at a discounted rate or pick and choose individual sessions.
Skills Lab: Creative Communities is tailored to enhance your current practice and to help you understand more about being a Trainee Music Leader. We will also be offering more information and support on how to apply to become one of our Trainee Music Leaders in our 21/22 scheme.
