This is a private event

With over 120 commissions for artists like Anna Meredith, Errollyn Wallen and Jonathan Dove, we’ve empowered artists to innovate and push creative boundaries. With your help, we want to go even further in our 50th year.

The Aim

This month, we need to raise £25,000 for our New Music Commissioning Fund. Every pound will be invested directly into supporting the creation of new music, enabling composers to dedicate the time and resources required to write new music. We’ll hear the premiere performances of these works at the next Spitalfields Music Festival.

Why This Matters

At a time when safe programming can often take precedence, the creation of brand new masterpieces depends on a visionary community willing to take risks.

Investment into new music is not an optional extra, it is absolutely vital in order to sustain the cultural landscape.

Composers are bursting with creative potential, but lacking in opportunities to bring their ideas to life. This is why our role is so vital: we provide a crucial platform for emerging composers at the start of their careers, while also giving established artists the opportunity to experiment radically. The building of new masterpieces thrives in these kind of artist-led environments.

Your support won’t just fund a performance, it will safeguard the future of music.

“Small in scale yet ambitious in its intended impact”
Erica Jeal on Spitalfields Music Festival in The Guardian, July 2025

Any amount will help, but we’re suggesting donations of £25, £50 or £120.

If you are able to give more, you could co-commission a new work, perhaps with a group of friends, or even fund a work in full. Talk to us if you’re interested in these bespoke options, as we can help curate a special relationship.
