Matt joined Spitalfields Music in November 2020. He is a freelance producer and creative director, usually found working with orchestras on cross-arts projects that explore how we can heighten concert experiences for both audiences and performers. Before turning freelance, Matt was Creative Director of Southbank Sinfonia’s experimental #ConcertLab series. A dormant percussionist, he eagerly awaits the day when soundproofing or a detached house might allow for noisy instruments to come out of hiding.

I once spent a month on a farm in the Scottish Highlands and I can’t wait to go back and explore some more. Try Glen Affric for untouched nature, or Ben Wyvis for a rapid climb with an incredible view.

Currently, Gagarin by Public Service Broadcasting for a high energy pick-me-up with a bonus history lesson smuggled in for fun.

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. Don’t be put off by its size – it flies by!
